The Day!

On May 7, 1910, Mount St. Helen’s was a calm volcano. Its remained that way until May 18, 1980. Boom, Boom, Bam. Mt.St.Helen’s erupted. Run! Soon Washington State was covered in ash. The volcano was so powerful that ash spread across six different states, and over 57 people lost their lives because they sufficated. Every second more and more black smoke filled the air as more people died. The reason Mt. St. Helen’s erupted is that a 5.1 earthquake struck, setting off one of the largest landslides in recorded history. The entire north slope of the volcano slid away. The openings in the volcano let hot ash flow into the air and the volcano exploded. Mount St. Helen’s is one of the most famous volcanoes.
